Subject:Chinese cloisonné vase
Posted By: GG Tue, Dec 20, 2016 IP: 61.18.218.7

I have no knowledge of cloisonné, can anyone advise the possible date of this vase? The pattern looks quite modern to me, is it a 20th century production? Thanks in advance for any comment!

I'm not sure but IMO this could be early Meiji (late 1860s - early 1870s) Japanese cloisonné (dorô-jippô technique?).

Guy.

Nothing except a hole on the bottom
Maybe someone wants to turn it into a table lamp

I don't know enough about Japanese cloisonne to pin down the exact decade, but Guy's estimate seems likely.
