Subject:Pair of large blue alms bowls
Posted By: Stephen Wed, Jun 25, 2014 IP: 188.29.164.145 These two alms bowls I have though I don't think they are a pair measure 91/2&10 inches width and are covered in a thick blu porridge like glaze both have three stump like feet emerging near base, one covers the stumps with a uniform glaze, the other has a deeper blue thicker lustrous orange peel texture glaze covering the stumps with the grey white body showing through the glaze. |

Posted By: Bill H Fri, Jun 27, 2014 If by any chance your "alms bowl" looks something like the item in the following pictures, then it actually is a Chinese censer with small tripod feet. Probably dates to the late 19th century. An auction result in included at the link. |
